Gotta get to the River!
Christy Martin, Publisher and Riverrat By christy@lifeonthewater.org on 7/13/2007 8:38 PM

We were up late with my 11 year old...he's ready to go to the river!

As much as I love it, too, there's work that has to be done.  Cole's logic is both my husband and I work in the boat business...and I, now, have a magazine about the Tennessee River...so WHY can't we stay at the river more?  Good problem to have I suppose.

Both of my children are better when we're on the water.  We actually talk to each other.  You MUST work together to take trips or even just go skiing.  Plus, you get really FRESH air.  Speaking of that, my laundry is finished and I'm getting my boat bag ready!  See you this weekend on the water!

What's in a marina...
Christy Martin, Publisher and Riverrat By christy@lifeonthewater.org on 6/28/2007 8:23 PM
Slips are getting hard to find. Now maybe more slips will come available this fall. Right now, they're a needle in a haystack. What do you look for in a marina? Convenience to home...size of slip...amenities...restaurant...dockside pumpout? What makes a good marina on the Tennessee River? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this one...

Blog on the Water...
Christy Martin, Publisher and Riverrat By christy@lifeonthewater.org on 6/22/2007 10:01 PM
Blog on the water...sort of like FOG on the water. When you're on the water in fog, especially at night, you have to trust your instincts. You rely on instruments to guide you, friends that are knowledgeable to give you support and, most of all, God to be with you. It's no different with a blog. I am not a computer geek...I'm not even computer literate. But I appreciate the help and guidance I've received! So, please, blog along with me...

Daymarker Enterprises, LLC is a family business.  You're just as likely to see our 12-year-old son, Cole, washing boats as you are to see our 10-year-old son, Jake, taking photographs for the magazine.  You'll find us on the Tennessee River every weekend.  We've seen firsthand that 'life on the water' makes you better...a better couple, a better family.

Turn off the TV news and video games...go to the river as fast as you can.

Daymarker Enterprises, LLC.  We'll take you to the river.
