· Located on Lake Guntersville, Alabama’s largest lake. 
· 950 miles of shoreline, 69,000 acres of water
· Hosts more than 30 BASSMASTER fishing tournaments
· Has 3 sites on the North Alabama Birding Trail, including
habitat for the American Bald Eagle
· Named for John Gunter, the first white settler in Marshall
County.  John Gunter married the daughter of Chief
Bushyhead of the Cherokee Nation.  His descendants
became prominent leaders like Will Rogers, noted
humorist and playwright.
